Blisters

Hafiz was dancing

on the beach last night

under the Full Moon

I joined him for a while

and began to get drunk

on the beauty of night

and the coolness of the Moon...

But then Hafiz started laughing

at all my missteps,

and began

kicking sand in my face,

and tripping up my feet...

Hafiz, I yelled,

"What are you doing?

Can't you just let me Dance?

Then,

He  quickly threw me down,

and Yelled,

"Crazy boy,

Can you stay drunk,

with blisters on your feet,

and thorns on your head?!

Fight

for the Goddess

before she

swallows

you whole.."
